2023

It’s been a very dry hot summer up to this point, the first week of September. Today it’s 98! In MN, in Sept. Yesterday 100 tomorrow 95. This is my first year where I really question what next will be like and how do we prepare. Every year is a challenge and every year things do bad and things do well. There is always food a d great people to share it with. As I sit in my house in 95 degrees I know other places have it worse than me and as I sweat I’m grateful for what we do have. Thanks to our members and friends for their work and support, to family, employees, bees, willie the cat, Ridgeway Fire Department for filling up my water tanks consistently, mother nature for persevering and knowing that this is MN and inevitably it will get cold again and snow will come.

SEASON 4

Well, it’s official, I finally figured out how to reset the password on this site so I could update. Only took three years. That is why I’m a laborer not a tech worker. So, we are up to season four, which is crazy. Also exciting. Please email us at willienilliefarmmn@gmail.com if you are interested in signing up or fill out the member agreement from this site and mail it to us. We look forward to making you a part of the Willie Nillie Family.

Season Ends, New Begins

Our first season has come to a close, but it was amazing.  There were some nail-biting situations, but overall for 17 members we harvested more than 2,100 pounds of food.  Amazing! Thanks to all of those whom participated and we hope to see you again next season.

Thanks to my pal Jackson who provided the kombucha with produce from our farm, it was a big hit.  Jackson now has his own business making his kombucha so if you are interested let us know and we will introduce you.  We’ll see his kombucha back next season.

Thanks to my friend and co-grower Heather who provided space and physical energy to also grow produce for the CSA.  Your potatoes were the biggest I’ve ever seen.  Such healthy microbes in her soil.

Thanks also to our volunteers whom came out to assist with everything from simple weeding to fence and wood shed building to end-of-season clean up.  I appreciated all your dedication all season long.

We are on the road to a new season in 2020 and excited to grow a couple new items as well as your favorites.  Interested in signing up and being a member?  Contact us for more information.

SEASON BEGINS

Our first week of CSA harvest and delivery has come and gone.  An amazing day, weather wise it was a crazy day harvest-wise.  Great food to be eaten included radishes, head lettuce, pea shoots, dill and more.  Jackson’s Kombucha rounded out the amazing first box and will be in next weeks share as well.
